I'm making this review on the revised version of this book. This book is one of my favorite commentaries because of how unique it is. I think this book is a must when studying Revelation because he shows commentators of all 4 of these views making their case. Another good thing about this book is after reading it you can then go further and study the books he quotes from. And another thing is you will now be aware that your view isn't the only view, especially today when the futurist view seems to be so popular. You'll be familiar with the other views even if you don't hold to them. I've recommended this book to several of my friends who come from a dispensational background. When reading this commentary, be open, be willing to understand the points these commentators are making and see which one makes the best case biblically.

As a new Christian, I read through the Bible & was thoroughly confused… probably more by Revelation than any other book… having spent decades trying to better understand it, I’ve read a lot of commentaries, but this particular commentary is absolutely the best I have read. I would describe it as a greatest hits of commentaries on Revelation, divided into their interpretive camps. Many commentaries on Revelation set out to persuade you, the reader to their view, while seeking to make the other views appear juvenile. Steve Gregg essentially gives you a small section of the scripture, then in four parallel columns lays out the best explanations each of the views offer in the words of those who hold those respective views. As I recall, the author has held all the views he lays out at different seasons of his life, so he is able to be fair in his treatment & avoids tones of condescension. I wanted to be educated on this book of the Bible rather than indoctrinated & this commentary delivered! I wish there were a series treating every book of the Bible in this manner!

This book has been updated since it's original release, will it be updated here aswell? For example: he changed "spiritual" to "idealist" and incorporated the works of Bauckham and Beale into the book.
