Jon Courson founded the Applegate Christian Fellowship in Southern Oregon. What started as a home fellowship of a few is now the home church for over 10,000 people. In 2002, he left Oregon to assist pastor Chuck Smith at the 25,000-member Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California.

This is by far the most allegorical interpretation of scripture I have ever read. I am always amazed at what Courson manages to make scripture say. The 5 porches at the pool of Bethesda represent the law, and he just goes off from there. Whenever I want some far out strange view of a passage, I open these up so I can shake my head. I truly don't understand all the good reviews. People make passages say anything they want, and Courson is a master at doing just that.

I do like how he expresses himself. I found one issue with his thinking so far. But not a big issue. It all depends on the Dictionary he used to define the word.Robert W Gunn

John’s commentary I truly believe are spirit filled, an encouragement and an eye opener I did the Bible in a year and having this was truly incredible learning and encouragement and understanding. I’d encourage anyone who is a Christian and wants to gain a deeper depth of the word to buy these.

Love, love, LOVE Jon Courson's teaching and writings. His commentaries don't disappoint. I've had them for years in hardcover and had to add them to my Logo library as well. That's just how good they are!
