What's Inside the Guide?
A sabbatical is one of the kindest things a church can give its pastor. This guide gives you the biblical foundation for sabbaticals—and the practical framework to plan one well.
- The biblical theology of Sabbath rest—from Genesis to the Mosaic law to its pastoral application today
- What a sabbatical is and what it isn’t—including the common mistakes that undermine them
- What the pastor should do during sabbatical: prayer, Scripture, family, silence, and rest
- The three plans every good sabbatical requires: the send-out, the sabbatical itself, and the re-entry
- A practical sabbatical checklist to guide the planning process from start to finish
