Most Highlighted Verses in The Passion Translation

Matthew 6:33–34: “So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”

Matthew 11:28–30: “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

John 15:7: But if you live in life-union with me and if my words live powerfully within you—then you can ask whatever you desire and it will be done.

Romans 8:5–6: Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities. For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mindset controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.

Romans 8:17: And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.

Romans 8:28: So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.

Galatians 2:20: “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine!

Ephesians 1:7: Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace.

Hebrews 4:16: So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.

James 1:2–4: My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.

Praise for the Print Edition

One of the greatest things to happen with Bible translation in my lifetime.

—Bill Johnson, Pastor, Bethel Church, Best-Selling Author

The Word of God is our collective and yet deeply personal love letter from above. It positions you and me within proven, godly wisdom and gives precious insight into the heart, nature, and goodness of God....With my husband, Brian, and our Hillsong church family, we know these pages will bring to life the One whose name is Jesus—whose passion is humanity and whose heart is for you.

—Bobbie Houston, Co-Senior Pastor, Hillsong Church

Forged many years ago while translating the Scriptures among South American tribes, and hammered out on the anvil of decades of personal devotion and apostolic experience, my dear friend Brian Simmons brings to the earth a powerful and refreshing translation of the Scriptures that is fueling and inflaming the hearts of tens of thousands worldwide. Like the Living Bible that sprung forth in the days of the Jesus Movement, this translation bursts forth from the womb of this present revival. Read it and get caught up in a God-swirl of spiritual understanding and revelation.

—Lou Engle, The Call

Brian Simmons’ work is truly breathtaking! We so appreciate the labor of love that went into translating the Scriptures directly from the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. The Passion Translation has energized our study of the Bible, and we’re certain it will do the same for you.

—John and Lisa Bevere, Founders of Messenger International and Best-Selling Authors

I believe the Passion Translation will be the Bible of choice for the next Jesus people movement.

—Dr. Ché Ahn, President & Founder, Harvest International Ministry Founder, HRock Church, Pasadena, CA, International Chancellor, Wagner University

The Passion Translation makes powerful truths more accessible and at the same time stirs our inner man to rejoice and receive.

—Graham Cooke, Speaker, Author, and Founder of Brilliant Book House

I believe this translation should remain available in the Logos library for research purposes. I believe that, in general, all books that we would consider heretical, misleading, or simply bad should also be available for purchase on the Logos website—but, of course, with an appropriate editorial note.

Logos Bible software needs to remove this deceptive work immediately. I think the issue isn't that it's a paraphrase, and people are missing this: It is because Brian Simmons is lying about visions and experiences. Claiming false credentials, false attributions of scholarship, and systematically copying from various translations and other works without attributing any credit to the original authors. It's a massive work of deception that is meant to manipulate people. Logos, please remove this mockery of God's word.

I agree with all the Christians that say Logo should remove this from Logos. I would think that anyone who pays the money to have Logos would want to seriously study Gods word. The passion para phrase is far from serious. Many Christians have done hours and hours of research into this so called Translation. How is it a translation when he doesn't even have translation credentials. I have seen actual Bible scholars being interviewed about this. People have called the people who he says he worked with and they said he wasn't a translator. I have heard and watched his statements about everything I mentioned in my other review. I am just going to repeat a couple things I said in other review with a little more detail. First I heard him say he got this from an Angel called Passion which is why he called it the Passion. More recently in an interview he said Jesus came to him and said to call it the Passion. Another time he said it came to him from God in a Holy Spirit download to his brain. He also changes his story based on if he is talking to hyper Charismatics or other groups of Christians. I have seen to many videos of him changing his story. There are hours and hours on YouTube of tons of research that back up everything I have said but based on the Logos guidelines. I don't think I can mention any of them because that would be an endorsement of their channels. I was very shocked in my Logos software when I saw a Data base update for the Passion which I defiantly don't have. So I looked on here for Bibles and sure enough it was being sold here. I am not attacking anyone but this shouldn't be available. We are to call out deceivers. If he said it came from the Lord that makes him a false prophet and a Holy Spirit download not only sounds nuts the way he worded it but it is also claiming it came from the Lord. Where is the fear of the Lord today? The Plagiarism of the Aramaic is a legal issue that should be addressed also and another reason of many why it should be removed from Logos, and any other Bible app that is pushing it as a Translation. Today there is the cover up culture and I guess this will be protected by the same types of people. I pray this doesn't continue. And it is removed from the sources we trust. To trust or not to trust. Only time will tell.

Logos should remove this “translation” with immediate effect. There have been several articles by scholars carefully documenting the problems with the translation “philosophy”, if we can call it that, but see now the Roys Report article of June 17, 2026, exposing additional widespread issues with plagiarism and spurious claims about Aramaic (the NT documents were of course written in Greek). As a matter of integrity, this should not be on sale.

    Stay away!!!

Cannot honestly recommend this for even devotional Bible reading, let alone serious Bible study.

Not a translation. Where he said he got the Aramaic he actually plagiarized it frome someone elses site. Think about it for a minute. He has Aramaic meaning of Pauls letters? Paul was the Apostel to the Gentiles who spoke koni Greek. This is targeted at the N.A.R movement. All the key words used in the N.A.R. that appear in this para phrase aren't in the Greek. It was created for an aggenda. Brian Simmions should repent and take this off the market. He is not only lying to the sheep but also is lying about God giving him this. He says an Angel named passion gave it to him, then it was Jesus who appeared to him. Everytime he tells the story it changes. He got a Holly Spirit download from God to his brain. How can you take this guy seriously? You can't.
