Top Highlights

“According to Acts, Paul first visited Corinth during his second missionary journey, probably sometime in AD 50 or 51.” (Page 15)

“The presence of jealousy, strife, and divisions gave evidence that this was the case.” (Page 19)

“Curiously, the reason Paul gives for practicing such judgment is eschatology. That is, the Corinthians should not hesitate to judge earthly matters because they are destined to participate in God’s end-time and final judgment of the world.” (Page 26)

“Paul also realizes that true discipline seeks not to punish but to correct and restore a broken relationship.” (Page 68)

“Paul’s stay at Ephesus ended late in the year AD 55. He wrote 1 Corinthians from Ephesus probably in the spring (before Pentecost, according to 1 Corinthians 16:8) of AD 55.” (Page 15)
