At almost 20 years old, the "contemporary" value of this text seems a stretch, particularly with regard to topics like genetic engineering, reproductive technologies, technology, and media. Not to mention how advances in media and technology impact other topics like pornography and gambling. That said, it certainly has much value in speaking to the perennial aspects of these issues.
