God’s kingdom is where his perfect plan for the world comes to fruition. The author contrasts this with human kings, who are often portrayed as weak, selfish, or cruel. God, however, is a “good king” who is just, loving, and powerful. He desires a close relationship with humanity, one built on trust and living the “good life” for which we were created.
The author concludes with an invitation to trust Jesus. He defines this trust as saying “yes” to God’s rule, in contrast to sin, which is saying “no.” The passage includes a sample prayer for those who want to accept Jesus as their king. It also provides guidance for new believers, encouraging them to tell someone and to read the Bible and pray to Jesus.
