Overview

This volume is one of the most significant studies on the arrangement and harmonization of the four Gospels. Wieseler’s study was so influential that it formed the basis for Tischendorf’s Synopis Evangelica and Bishop Charles John Ellicott’s Historical Lectures on the Life of Our Lord. Beginning with the birth of Christ, Wieseler reconstructs the events of the Gospels in chronological order with incredible attention to detail and judicious use of original languages and ancient sources.
