Pulpit Speech

Lucid speech is not a natural gift. The privileged few were born into a family or raised in a community where, from the earliest years, they heard and imitated good speech. For most of us, however, such speech must be attained (if indeed it is attained at all) at great cost. But in either case the point of importance is that lucid speech is learned behavior.
