Overview

Dr. Darrell Bock, one of the world’s foremost biblical scholars, has distilled his decades of research and teaching experience into this single course on how to study the Bible with Logos. This is the ideal companion to your Logos base package.

Dr. Bock begins by teaching you how to read Scripture in four basic steps. Then he teaches you how to study Scripture by understanding the original context and genre it was written in. He describes the social, literary, and historical elements of context; following that, he covers genres, like narrative and biography, and subgenres, like those in the Psalms.

Dr. Bock’s teaching is paired with nearly a dozen Logos training videos. You will learn how to use the new features in Logos as you explore the life of the Apostle Peter, uncover the literary context of Ruth, find all of the Davidic Psalms about God’s faithfulness, and more. If you want to study the Bible on a deeper level using Logos, and you need a place to start, this course was designed for you.

I absolutely love this course. I started out as a new christian about 6 years ago. i remember going into a church shop and asking to buy a bible and being flabbergasted at the amount and variety there were. I ended up with a life application NIV and read it as a book - from cover to cover. I then started to look at on line education and eventually came to Logos. As part of the introduction "bumpf" i saw this course and read about it. i decided to have a go and haven't looked back. I love the way Dr Bock presents information and I love how the course material links into other resources so I can go in depth into areas that I find interesting. I video side with Dr Bock is good for sure but the real value added is the additional readings in which I get a relevant reading list with specific sections related to to the subject of the video. This again in itself would be worth the money. Time for me is vital. I am in full time employment with a wife and kids. This course allowed me to straight to the good stuff without having to read a lot of stuff that wouldn't be directly relevant to get it it. Its been 2 or 3 years at least since I went though this the first time so I am now going though it again. It is teaching me how to think and how to process information about bible study and the bible - Thanks Dr Bock and Faithlife for this brilliant resource.

This course almost turned me off on anything Mobile. Dr. Bock is a wonderful teacher however when it comes to integrating Logos this is a surface view. I found the learn to study the bible using Matthew 4:1-11 100% times more effective now that i have completed this course- using Grasping the Word as a text. My only wish is applying funds lost on this purchase to the Matthew study which is what i was expecting.
