Digital Logos Edition
This bundle gives you both The Concise Dictionary of Classical Hebrew (CDCH) and The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, Abridged (TDNTA) to enhance your understanding of biblical Hebrew and Greek works.
The CDCH has been designed to be clear, concise and easy to use. The Hebrew words are arranged in alphabetical order, so it is not necessary to know the ‘root’ of a word to look it up in the Dictionary. All the Hebrew words and phrases quoted are accompanied by an English translation. At the end of each entry on verbs is a list of the nouns derived from that verb; and at the end of each entry on nouns a reference to the verb from which it is derived (when known). For every word the numbers of its occurrences in the four main corpora of classical Hebrew (the Bible, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Ben Sira, and the ancient inscriptions) are noted. All the proper names in classical Hebrew texts are included, with their correct spellings in English.
The unabridged Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (TDNT) is considered by many to be the best New Testament dictionary ever compiled. It contains 2300 entries which cover the spectrum of biblical topics from "A to Z." The one-volume TDNTA abridges the 10-vol. Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, keeping most, if not all, of the information that pastors and laypeople can use, leaving out the technical and bibliographic information. It explores how each word is used, often in detail, explaining and expounding the underlying concepts. As a consequence, this work allows people who are not scholars to develop a deep understanding of the meaning and usage of words and concepts in the New Testament, letting them appreciate the nuances of meaning in the text and giving them a deeper understanding of what the biblical author is saying.
