Top Highlights

“It was true that prophecy had long before intimated that Israel would one day have a king (Genesis 17:6, 16; 35:11; 49:10), and God had made provision in the law for the appointment of a king (Deuteronomy 17:14, 15). But that time had not yet arrived in God’s plan for a king for Israel; therefore, the demand by the elders was presumptuous. They could not wait on God’s time.” (Page 14)

“All men will have to answer for what they have done with their advantages.” (Page 19)

“God will take care of your recognition in due time. He will order circumstances to come about which will publicly confirm your calling in a dignified, respectful, and obvious way. God will bring you to the front when the time is ready. Be confident that if God has called you, He will also elevate you when it is time.” (Page 74)

“Sometimes the best thing you can do with scorners is just ignore them and not give them the dignity of giving them attention.” (Page 82)

“Many today are replacing Samuels with Sauls; and they soon discover, as did the Israelites, that it is a tragic replacement.” (Page 13)
