Overview

John Lang’s Gideon and the Judges: A Study Historical and Practical is a practical exposition on the life of Gideon and the Judges of Israel. Beginning his commentary with an introduction and historical sketch of Israel during the time of the Judges, Lang outlines practically what life was like for Israel during the period of the Judges. After his introduction Lang discusses the lives of some notable figures in the book of Judges; men like Gideon, Jephthah, and Samson are discussed in some detail. Lang’s offering is a useful tool for studying the lives of the Judges through the lens of select men living during the time.
