Born in Ramsey, Illinois, Brenda Poinsett earned her bachelor’s
degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She then
went on to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth
where she received a master’s degree in religious education. Since
completing her education, Poinsett has taught, spoken, and written
extensively. She has taught Bible literature, math, and sociology
at high school and college levels, including working as an adjunct
instructor in religious studies for Oakland City (IN) University.
She has authored 14 books on topics ranging from prayer to dealing
with depression. As a member of the National Speakers Association
and the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, Poinsett is a
frequent speaker on topics such as women in the Bible, spiritual
transformation, and dealing with emotions. Passionate about sharing
knowledge that changes lives, she organizes retreats and serves as
women’s ministry consultant for a missions organization in
Missouri. Brenda and her husband, Bob, have three grown sons and
reside in Union, Missouri.
