Top Highlights

“but those who live their lives like the stars in the sky” (Page 139)

“God does not give us overcoming life—He gives us life as we overcome. The strain of life is what builds our strength. If there is no strain, there will be no strength. Are you asking God to give you life, liberty, and joy? He cannot, unless you are willing to accept the strain. And once you face the strain, you will immediately get the strength.” (Page 215)

“Having the reality of God’s presence is not dependent on our being in a particular circumstance or place, but is only dependent on our determination to keep the Lord before us continually.” (Page 202)

“If you want to be of use to God, maintain the proper relationship with Jesus Christ by staying focused on Him” (Page 139)

“Purity is the result of continued spiritual harmony with God” (Page 86)

Oswald Chambers

Oswald Chambers (1874–1917) was a prominent preacher, writer, and evangelist. He studied at The Art School in South Kensington, the University of Edinburg, and Dunoon Training School.

Chambers served as a YMCA chaplain to British Commonwealth soldiers during World War I. He also worked as a traveling speaker for the League of Prayer and as the main teacher of the Bible Training College. His preaching ministry reached Britain, America, and Japan.

Chambers’ books are mainly compilations of his messages that were transcribed by his wife, Gertrude or “Biddy” as he called her. The daily devotional My Utmost For His Highest was first published in 1927 and continues to be a best-seller. 24 essays and books, including Studies in The Sermon on Mount and Biblical Psychology, can be found in the Oswald Chambers Collection.

Don't waste your money. I am a reformed baptist but I love reading chambers daily devotions and his original book is far better than this one. This is stretched out and over exaggerated. Chambers was never hard to read, hes poetic in his writtings and this takes away from that. Just buy the original.
