Overview

After surveying interpretations by figures from Albrecht Ritschl to N. T. Wright, Perrin examines the “what, who, and how” questions of the kingdom. In these sweepingly comprehensive video sessions, Perrin contends that the kingdom is inaugurated in Jesus’ earthly ministry, but its final development awaits later events in history. In between the times, the people of God are called to participate in the reign of God by living out the distinct kingdom ethic through hope, forgiveness, love, and prayer.

Nicholas Perrin, PhD, is dean of Wheaton College Graduate School and Franklin S. Dyrness Professor of Biblical Studies. Between 2000 and 2003, he was research assistant for N.T. Wright and has since authored and edited numerous articles and books, including Thomas and Tatian (Society of Biblical Literature / Brill); Thomas: The Other Gospel (Westminster John Knox); Lost in Transmission: What We Can Know about the Words of Jesus (Thomas Nelson); and Jesus the Temple (SPCK; Baker Academic), the first of a three-part trilogy on the historical Jesus. He is also coeditor of the recently revised edition of Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels (InterVarsity).

I have this on audio from a different source. It was really good. There was one story on it that gave me pause (assuming this is all the same content) and made me wonder about the lecturer's personal beliefs and why it was included. However, overall very good and edifying.
