Overview

In this profound Epistle, Paul explores the wrong paths people can take in life, then points to the only right one: Jesus Christ. Romans is a life-changing letter for those who are willing to admit they are sinners. With scripture reading, inspirational readings, questions to answer, space for journaling, and a prayer, it's like studying the Bible with Max Lucado.

Top Highlights

“But those who are right with God will live by trusting in him.’” (Pages 10–11)

“Satan’s best tools of destruction are not from outside the church, they are from within the church. A church will never die from the immorality in Hollywood or the corruption in Washington. But it will die from corrosion within—from those who bear the name of Jesus but have never met him, and from those who have religion, but no relationship.” (Page 22)

“He provides, a command here, a command there. A rule here, a rule there. A little lesson here, a little lesson there (Isa. 28:10).” (Page 6)

“Paul explores all the wrong options and takes us to the only correct one. The wrong solutions are pleasure and pride (chapters 1 and 2), the correct solution is Christ Jesus (3:21–26). According to Paul, we are saved by grace (undeserved, unearned favor), through faith (complete trust) in Jesus and his work.” (Pages 7–8)

“God’s highest passion is to get his children home. His book, the Bible, describes his plan of salvation. The purpose of the Bible is to proclaim God’s plan and passion to save his children.” (Page 6)
