Little Big Moments is a collection of short essays offering practical and entertaining advice about how to handle the stress of parenting young children. Andrew Taylor-Troutman divides his stories between two key themes: affirming caregivers ("You are enough") and valuing community ("You are not alone"). While sharing his experiences from camping vacations, grocery shopping, and youth sports, Taylor-Troutman weaves his own insights with those of such parenting experts as Dr. Becky Kennedy and Janet Lansbury. He tackles controversial issues, including gender roles and gun violence, from a faith perspective that values compassion and inclusion. Little Big Moments is a book for caregivers on the go, perfect for when you're idling in the afterschool carpool line or retreating behind the last parenting sanctuary, the closed bathroom door. In the midst of the daily grind of work and family, this book will encourage, educate, and entertain you.

“Andrew Taylor-Troutman has given us quite a gift. His pen is sharp and sweet, but even more than that, he’s given us the gift of being our guide. Little Big Moments is an everyday travelogue modeling what it means to trek (even when some of that trek is spent stuck stationary in the school drop line) with eyes and hearts wide open to the joy and pain around us and in us. Take up and read these astute epistles of hope and imagination.”

—Chris Breslin, pastor, Oak Church

Andrew Taylor-Troutman is the author of six previous books that span the genres of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. He is a regular contributor to national publications about faith and parenting. Taylor-Troutman currently serves as pastor of Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he shares his life with his wife (who is also an ordained minister), their three children, and their dog Ramona, named after their family’s favorite literary heroine.
