Version 53 makes the Logos mobile app easier to navigate, brings Study Assistant to the passage you’re already studying, and lets you reshape a Reading Plan without throwing away everything you’ve already read.

Highlights at a glance

1. The mobile app is now easier to use
If you’ve ever opened Logos on your phone and spent a minute just trying to find a tool you wanted, this update is for you!
The mobile app now orients naturally around your activity in the app. The navigation bar has five options (Today, Ask, Read, Study, and More) so you can access what you need in one simple tap, rather than it being multiple menus deep.
- The central Read is where your books and features open. Once you’re in Read, tap the icon again to open and navigate between panels.
- Study is where you can find and open everything else from books to study tools. Recent presents whatever you had open last, and Pinned lets you keep your favorites within reach.
- More is now home for settings and preferences.
Your library, notes, and Reading Plans are all still there, now just easier to get to!
2. Explain and Ask, right from the passage
Logos goes incredibly deep. Yet that upside can have a downside: Knowing where to find a tool is sometimes challenging. We continue to make strides towards the best of both: depth with ease of use!
So to make things even easier, you can now launch Study Assistant from within a passage. Select the text you’re working on (or open Insights) and you’ll find two options: Explain and Ask. Either one opens Study Assistant in its own panel with your selection already attached. The Bible or book you were reading stays open right where you left it.
- Explain provides an explanation of that passage in its context without you having to copy and paste the passage or type out a request for a general explanation.
- Ask automatically brings the passage into Study Assistant. You can then ask your specific question, and Study Assistant will answer with that passage in view.
Study Assistant is a starting point for your study, not a replacement for it. Follow the citations, read the sources, weigh what they have to say, and keep digging for yourself. As always, answers stay anchored in relevant resources in Logos’s library rather than hallucinations and who-knows-what from the open internet.
On desktop and web, Explain and Ask live in the text selection and right-click menus.

3. Change your mind? Change your Reading Plans
Life changes. Your kids’ schedule shifts. You get busy and fall behind. Or maybe you decide to increase your reading.
Until now, changing a Reading Plan in Logos meant starting it over, losing every session you’d already read.
Not anymore. Open a Plan Details view and you can now change its dates, frequency, Bible version, and more. Logos keeps everything you’ve already read—or skipped—and recalculates only what’s left. For example:
- Drop the two mornings that no longer fit your schedule. Logos reshapes the remainder of your plan around the days you can.
- Easily switch from a “finish by a date” to “read 30 minutes a session” or to one chapter at a time.
- Move from a strict schedule to no schedule at all, and just read at your own pace.
Plan editing is brand new to mobile and web. Your editing controls match those in the plan creation wizard, so it works the same way everywhere.
Custom reading plan creation and editing is still desktop-only. Featured plans and Read Together plans can’t be edited.
4. All your plans in one place, now on mobile
The new Reading Plan Manager arrived on desktop and web last version. It’s the single hub for every plan you’re following. No more hunting for that book plan you started three months ago.
Now it’s on mobile too.
The Yours tab sorts your plans by where they stand:
- Today for what’s due
- Anytime for self-paced reading
- Later for what’s coming
- Archived for what you’ve set aside.
Each plan has a quick menu (⋮) to view details, share, duplicate, or restart.
The Explore Plans tab is where you can discover your next Reading Plan. Search and browse plans from your groups or start from a book in your library.
You can pull up the Reading Plan Manager from your Dashboard or straight from the navigation menu.

5. Simpler plan setup
Finally, we made two changes to the Reading Plan creation wizard, both based on user requests.
Reading plans that go chapter-by-chapter. Want to create a Reading Plan that has you reading one chapter per session (other than the Bible)? Choose “Whole book” on the Select a Portion screen and “One chapter per session” on the What Is Your Goal? screen.
Select from a book’s table of contents. If you only want to read part of a book, you can now view its actual structure and pick only those sections or chapters you want to read, instead of having to figure out and enter exact page numbers.
More updates
Some additional things worth knowing:
- Reading plan audio now stops at the end of your daily session instead of rolling past it, Read Later is back and lives in the Study tab, and the option to hide the reading plan margin ribbon is now in the web app as well as desktop.
