1. Smart Search gets easier and more shareable
Just Google Logos it!
Smart Search from your dashboard
Open Logos and use Smart Search right on your dashboard view. You don’t even have to open Factbook or click the Search icon in the menu. Drop in your search, select to search the Bible or Search all resources, and let your curiosity run free.
- For subscribers: You can search your Bible or All resources in Logos.
- For non-subscribers: You’ll be able to use Smart Search in Bibles for free, either from Search or your dashboard.
“I LOVE Smart Search, and find the Smart Bible Search and Smart Synopsis features particularly helpful (and fun/exciting to use) in my personal study. But I recognize everyone isn’t as immersed in the Search panel as I am (perhaps nobody is!). So I’m psyched that Smart Search has found its way out of the Search panel and into the Dashboard to expose more people to the power of these tools. It’s really encouraging to think that more and more people will benefit from the features that I am blessed to help build!”
—Ronny, Senior Software Engineer at Logos
Print and save your Smart Search results
By the way, you can now also save the verses you find from a Smart Search, whether as a passage list or by printing them out. Place printed memory verses on your bathroom mirror, share encouraging passages with a friend, send them to your small group leaders, or hang printed verses on the fridge next to finger paintings!
Do a quick Logos Smart Search and print your results so the Bible further infuses your life and ministry.
2. Get even more in one place from Factbook
Use Factbook like your launchpad to a hundred destinations—or to just that one you needed.
Cloud & print books in Factbook
See all your books from Factbook. Haven’t downloaded it from the cloud? No problem. Is it sitting on your office bookshelf, and you’ve scanned it into your Print Library Catalog? No problem. (Yes, you can scan your print books to make them searchable on Logos!)
All books relevant to your topic or passage will now appear in Factbook, and you can decide whether to download them or pull them off your shelves.
More to discover in Factbook
You may not always own the resource most helpful for your study. Now, see and preview relevant resources from the More to Discover section of Factbook. It won’t get in the way when you don’t need it, but it’s there whenever you need to find more books to read.
3. Digging deeper into the Deuterocanon
The Deuterocanon, examined.
“What’s the intent of this sentence?” and “Is this a command?” are standard questions in Bible study. Now, Max-users can right-click on a verse in the Deuterocanon to see the type of speech act and the sentence type.
For your scholarly or day-to-day investigation of deuterocanonical texts, now it’s even easier to dig into the meaning of these texts and to find other passages with similar characteristics.
“Understanding whether a sentence is a command or a question is an immense benefit to the student of the Bible. Now this data extends beyond the Old and New Testaments into the Deuterocanon, as well.”
—Kyle A., Sr. Manager of Content Innovation at Logos
4. More options for Insights on mobile
Make it bigger … no, smaller … actually, just get me more info.
Maximize Insights cards
On Logos mobile, you’ve always been able to view cross-references or study Bible notes in the Insights panel. But tapping a card used to take over your whole screen—hiding your Bible. Now, a single tap expands the card within Insights, so you can dig into the details and keep your Bible in view.
If you’re only interested in cross-references, keep that card maximized. If you’re not interested in cross-references right now, minimize it.
Better Insights experience with People, Places, and Things on mobile
On Insights you’ll now see a single People, Places, and Things card. This makes it easier to reference those Factbook entries in a single place instead of having to scroll and open several different cards. Get the info you need at a glance on Logos mobile!
A snapshot of more updates
- Bible Study Builder connected to passages: When you add questions to your Bible study, Logos remembers which passage they’re tied to—making it easy to find your study again later.
- Toggle to online or downloaded: You can now choose whether Insights and Factbook use online sources (default) or downloaded resources.
- Easily buy collections from the app: If you come across an interesting book you want to buy, you can now also see and buy any collections it is a part of—all directly within the app (using your card on file).
- Choose your toolbar visibility: A new program setting Prefer Minimized Toolbars automatically resets your toolbar to minimized when not using it.
