Celebrate Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Lasting Legacy

“One act of obedience is better than one hundred sermons.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

A legacy of courage

German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) is considered one of the most influential Christian martyrs in recent history. While his outspoken stand against injustice before and during World War II cost him his life, his collected writings on Christian commitment, community, and purpose continue to inspire and challenge people today.

The complete Bonhoeffer collection is now available in English (buy it now for $299.99), German (order it in Pre-Pub for $299.99), and as a complete English-German bundle (also in Pre-Pub, for just $399.99).

An extraordinary life

In either language, the collection ranges from the best-known to some of the more obscure (or even forgotten) correspondence from the pastor-theologian. Each volume reveals the heart of a courageous servant.

After studying theology in Berlin and New York, Bonhoeffer became one of the first voices of opposition to the Nazi regime of the 1930s. At great personal risk, he dedicated himself to training leaders in an underground seminary and serving the Confessing Church.

Many of the most influential Bonhoeffer writings in this collection originate from this turbulent time, including the trying months he spent in Nazi prisons before his eventual execution on April 9, 1945.
