Geerhardus Vos was among the Reformed tradition’s finest theologians. The contemporary of J. Gresham Machen, Herman Bavinck, and other famous thinkers, Vos lectured at Princeton alongside such able systematicians as B. B. Warfield and Abraham Kuyper. Their remarkable grasp of systematic theology almost certainly influenced Vos’ thought and writings.
Vos who understood that good biblical theology leads to the acceptance of important propositional truths self-published his five-volume Reformed Dogmatics (originally Gereformeerde Dogmatiek). Now Logos is working with Dr. Richard Gaffin and a team of translators to complete the first-ever English translation of Vos’ important work.
Here are a few of the endorsements for this translation:
“Written in tight prose and moving from question to answer, Vos’ work allows us to watch his fruitful mind work as he represents both historic Reformed orthodoxy as well as fresh insights driven from his approach that highlights the progressive and organic nature of revelation.
Clearly these volumes are worth our attention and I highly commend Gaffin and Logos for bringing them to an English speaking audience.”—Kelly M. Kapic, professor of theological studies, Covenant College
“‘Precision’ is the word. Vos’ understanding is clear, his definitions are to the point, and his explanations are crisp and cogent.”—Fred G. Zaspel, adjunct professor of systematic theology, Calvary Baptist Seminary
