Messages from the Past examines Hebrew epigraphic evidence from seal impressions, or bullae, from the eighth century to the beginning of the sixth century in Judah. These seals reflect the day-to-day reality in one of the most exciting periods in history—the biblical period. Study this corpus of seals found in one of the world’s finest private collections, many of which are published for the first time in these volumes. Compare the information on the seals to biblical texts and identify people mentioned in the Old Testament. Study the personal information found on these seals, and reconstruct the mosaic of the Monarchic, or First Temple, period.
