Overview

In The Stone and the Glory, Greg Harris takes his readers on a profound journey through the Scriptures as they explore the glorious realities of the stone prophecies. The journey begins with Abraham on his way to Canaan; it continues with the Israelites wandering toward the Promised Land; it includes the glorious Temple, as well as the life of Christ in the days before His passion; it chronicles the stone prophecies in the book of Acts; and it culminates with Messiah's return in glory. Along the way, readers will joyfully find themselves identifying with the biblical characters, pondering how they would have responded if they themselves were living in Bible times.

“God could have written—and actually did write scattered throughout His unfolding Word: ‘But if she cannot afford a lamb for a burnt offering (Lev. 12:8) … God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering’ (Gen. 22:8). On Moriah, where ‘Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, ‘In the mount of the LORD it will be provided’ ’ (Gen. 22:14). Moriah-the place to see God. Moriah—the place where God will appear. Moriah—where the present Temple stood. Moriah—where the Baby Jesus was presented before His Father. Mary, too poor to afford a lamb for the burnt offering, brings the Lamb of God whom God Himself had provided into His very own Temple where God had chosen for His name to dwell there forever.” (Page 183)

“Samaritan Pentateuch, a re-translation of the first five books of the Old Testament. This work identified the mount where Abraham had attempted to sacrifice Isaac at Mount Gerizim, just outside of Shechem—not Mount Moriah. The Samaritans did not accept the rest of the Old Testament account as truthful.” (Page 36)

“The Antichrist will have only the glory of the nations (Luke 4:5–6). For people who have no true standard of assessment, the glory of the fallen world often substitutes for the glory of God.” (Page 189)

“had previously revealed the manner of death by which Peter would glorify the Lord (John 21:18–19” (Page 103)

“The passive voice renders it, ‘The place where God appears.’” (Page 35)
