Overview

Servants of the Gospel is a collection of essays by nine American bishops on the bishop’s role in the Church today. Written prior to the Synod (worldwide gathering) of Bishops in 2000 on the very same topic, these essays are geared to helping all people understand the unique and challenging task of the successors of the apostles. This timely work is specifically designed to foster lay cooperation with bishops as the Church continues Christ’s mission into the third Christian millennium.
