Overview

“Paul is speaking here not about an individual person being chosen, or even more an individual person not being chosen but being rejected by God. Paul is not speaking, most likely, at that individual level. Instead, what he’s showing us is a map of our salvation—where we are headed, where we started—which is in Christ, the means of which is His blood and the cross that achieves our forgiveness and makes us a holy people, and not just us as a holy people but also that all things in heaven and on earth will be set in right order; that what seems like chaos around us, will instead in the end be made whole, will be renewed in Christ.” (source)

Dr. Lynn H. Cohick, presently serves as Provost and Dean of Academic Affairs of Northern Seminary in Lisle, Illinois. She also teaches New Testament and is leading the development of a MA program in women's studies.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Messiah College in Grantham, PA, and my Ph.D. in New Testament and Christian Origins from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. After 18 years as professor of New Testament and Biblical Studies at Wheaton College (serving as department chair and dean toward the end of her time there), she accepted the invitation to join Denver Seminary as their Provost / Dean. She's also taught at Messiah College (Grantham, PA), and Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (Nairobi, Kenya) in the 80s and 90s, respectively.
She has taught and given lectures around the world. Perhaps her most exciting venue was the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia. Where she presented the keynote lecture at Speech Night for the Presbyterian Ladies College, Sydney.
She enjoys preaching from the Bible, teaching on matters pertaining to women’s ministry, and exploring issues pertaining to the historical relationship between Jews and Christians.
