Alister McGrath
(DPhil, DD, Oxford University) is the Andreas Idreos Professor of Science and Religion at Oxford University. He previously held the chair of theology, ministry and education and was head of the Centre for Theology, Religion Culture at King's College, London. He is in constant demand as a speaker at conferences throughout the world and is the author of many books including The Dawkins Delusion? and Christianity's Dangerous Idea.

In this 3rd book (though each book is quite a short read) in his "Christian Belief for Everyone", McGrath uses the Christian Creeds (primarily Apostles' and Nicene) as the starting platform for discussion of the historical Jesus of Nazareth being our Lord and Saviour. He includes not only coverage of the Historical Jesus, but a marvellous yet compact chapter on the Incarnation. Plus in these just over 100 pages you get a nice overview of what the Atonement is all about. McGrath is a good communicator who draws heavily on Scripture, English Literature, C.S. Lewis and Martin Luther, so that he fully engages your imagination as well as as your intellect as you read. If you want a short, easy-to-read book for an introduction to Christology then this is it! Highly recommended.
