Overview

The Full Vision of Pentecost constructs a complete story of Pentecost, helping readers understand the role of the local church using the events of Pentecost. With an eye for relevant Old Testament prophecies and paying close attention to the New Testament narrative, Charles Roads draws insights from the lives of Hudson Taylor, Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, George Whitefield, and many others as he reconstructs and interprets the event of Pentecost for the modern church. By seeing the church at Pentecost as a model for local churches today, Roads helps Christians to see how individual churches ultimately influence the church worldwide.

An excellent read expanding on the birth of the Christian church more than 2,000 years ago. The powerful display and demonstration of the Holy Spirit as spoken by Jesus the moment before He ascended into Heaven is simply, yet profoundly explained in this book. The Full Vision of Pentecost includes insights many "Pentecostals" of today would probably hear for the first time . . . and probably cause some to say, "I NEVER thought of it that way before." We should never underestimate the awful (full of awe) power of the third person of the Godhead. As revealed in this circa 1900 book, it is by His power that the church was birthed and carries on today around the world. Any Holy Ghost-filled Christian who wants more of God will, indeed, be inspired.
