I take much umbrage at the poor review given by Steve, two stars really? What about it did you not like? Perhaps he was looking for a more detailed commentary? This is not that, but this intro is brilliant and it does cover alot of ground in the small book. Sad to see that there are not more reviews on this introduction. Edwards' book is an excellent intro, it is my go to when trying to understand key concepts on the Gospel of John. This book is very readable and concise, her knowledge of the literature on the gospel of John can be clearly seen and she will point you to other works for further study. At the end of the day you will definitely obtain a better appreciation of the 4th gospel. The fact that others have quoted from this work on John attests to the respect given to her work. I hope she produces a full commentary on this gospel, I think she has alot more to say!
