Overview

Inform your study of the Hebrew Scriptures with translations and commentary of cuneiform inscriptions relating to Old Testament texts, along with commentary on them. Documenting parallels between the cuneiform inscriptions and the biblical text, Eberhard Schrader identifies and explains names, events, and places that correlate with Old Testament references. As primary sources, the inscriptions help historians and biblical scholars reconstruct the larger historical picture of Israel’s world, identifying obscure people groups more precisely, detailing the nation’s geopolitical context, and shining new light on Israel’s cultural life.

Citations link directly to English translations and original-language texts, and important terms link to dictionaries, encyclopedias, and a wealth of other resources in your digital library.
