Overview

Is Catholicism the same as Christianity? Are Catholics saved by being true to the Catholic Church? The origin of the Catholic Church is addressed in this book. All of these chapters were originally printed in The Evangelist. Due to the information given, the response was phenomenal. Every believer desperately needs to read this book. It will open your eyes to many things, but above all, the deception of the Roman Catholic system, which has led so many astray.

Top Highlights

“Is the Roman Catholic Church Christian or is it pagan?” (Page 1)

“Nimrod’s wife, Semiramis, who was obviously inspired by Satan, took over the leadership and actually further developed the system. Semiramis declared that Nimrod had now become The Sun God, which made her ‘Queen.’ Later, Queen Semiramis gave birth to an illegitimate son named ‘Tammuz.’ She claimed that her flawless son, Tammuz, was Nimrod reborn, that he was supernaturally conceived, and that he was the promised seed, the ‘savior. Tammuz was not the only one to be worshipped. Queen Semiramis was to be worshipped as well, now being the mother of the gods.” (Page 3)

“God Himself provides assurance to His Children, so that no man’s religious witness or church government should be able to control them.” (Page 69)

“Pope Gregory went a step further and offered Queen Brunhelda remission of sin as long as she gave him money, real estate, investitures, etc. He told her that ‘The most blessed Peter, Prince of the Apostles … will cause thee to appear pure of all stain before the judge everlasting …’” (Page 116)

“When God connects his name with a city on earth, Jerusalem, then Babylon takes the form of a city. When God connects His name with a Church, then Babylon takes the form of a corrupt religious system called, ‘the great whore, the mother of abominations, etc.” (Pages 1–2)

This is an amazing work from the standpoint that selective partial biblical proof texts, contextually misleading quotes from historical documents, and apparent fabrication of historical events are used to construct various attacks on the Church that are incredibly easy to disprove. Along with the stunning omission of any non-biblical references to validate the outrageous suppositions of this book, it is equally amazing that any faithful Christian takes this work seriously. No star rating is provided because it isn't worth even one.

To date I have been very pleased with Logos' offerings and the work they are doing to expand their Catholic offerings...and then this. This was in the list when I searched for "catholic" in the search box. Really? To be fair, I haven't run across any other books say, from a Baptist perspective claiming that all, I don't know, Episcopalians are actually agents of Satan. Maybe they exist and I just haven't had the pleasure to run across them in the Logos Catalog. As for me and speaking solely as an individual here (but also as someone who has bought from Logos), I find this book offensive and particularly off putting. Is Logos accepting my money on one side only to promote the supposed depravity and deception that is my Catholic faith? Just seems like a contradiction to me. After most of us are Christians here striving for a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
