Overview

This series contains ten practical lessons on how to become a channel through which God can accomplish His purposes and spread His blessings on earth. These biblical principles of stewardship lead us to harvest the blessings of faithful giving.

Top Highlights

“You see, God doesn’t evaluate our giving by what we give. He evaluates our giving by what we have. As Paul puts it in II Corinthians 8:12, ‘For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.” (Pages 38–39)

“We have entrusted God with our eternal souls, but are unwilling to trust Him with our temporal riches. I heard about a man who complained to his pastor about not having any money left over for God after paying his bills. The pastor asked him, ‘Would you be willing to trust God to take care of you, tithe every month, and bring me whatever bills you can’t pay?’ Of course the man quickly agreed to that plan, but that led the pastor to say, ‘It’s strange you would trust me, an imperfect man, to care for your needs, but you will not trust Almighty God, who demonstrated His love for you by sending His Son to die on a cross.’ When it comes right down to it, we either trust God to take care of us, or we trust in our money. We either love Him, or we love money.” (Page 40)

“Third, note that the steward was anxious to know the master’s will.” (Page 11)

“That means we don’t give God the change left over after we’ve bought everything we want, nor do we offer Him the time we have left after packing our schedules with our own motivations and ambitions.” (Page 26)

“What we do with our money reveals what we really believe in. If we claim to believe in education, we’ll set money aside to put ourselves through school. Our checkbooks reveal our priorities. So make the decision to begin the adventure of giving to God and to start tithing 10% to your local church. Then start watching to see what God does in your life.” (Page 28)
