Overview

What if you knew someone was waiting for you, ready to attack you and your family at any moment? Wouldn’t you do everything possible to protect yourself? Unfortunately, many of us do little to strengthen ourselves when it comes to the area of spiritual warfare. We wonder why our lives are in such turmoil instead of realizing how unprepared we are. This workbook will help prepare you for the battle against Satan, including how to: know the enemy, recognize who you are in Christ, arm yourself, understand the biblical view of angels, realize the power of prayer and God’s Word and overcome your flesh. Each thought provoking lessons contains: a Scripture text for meditation, an opening prayer, a variety of questions to discuss and answer, and insight on how to spiritually equip yourself. Preparing for Battle also includes challenging sidebars that deal with matters such as information on cults, how to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit, and signs of involvement in the occult.

In the Logos edition, this volume is enhanced by amazing functionality. Important terms link to dictionaries, encyclopedias, and a wealth of other resources in your digital library. Top Highlights

“People may not always live what they profess, but they will always live what they believe.’” (Page 10)

“Pride, which is the love and preservation of the self, is an insidious agent of sin that we must continuously guard against. Christ calls us to die to ourselves daily. This involves denying, or turning away from, our own motives, desires, and wants and yielding to those of our Lord.” (Page 16)

“Revenge is presented as a desirable virtue. Enjoying the sensual and finding sexual conquest are touted as bringing ultimate pleasure.” (Page 21)

“A more accurate statement could be: ‘The devil influenced me to do it, but I made the final choice.’” (Page 11)

“The question is not whether we wrestle demonic spirits, but who’s winning.” (Page 10)

I found Preparing for Battle to be an eye-opening book, yet the material is presented in an easy to study format. Mr. Bubeck does a good job of cutting the material into manageable bites and he builds your comprehension of this subject chapter by chapter. I have gone through this workbook-style study and come away enriched and taught. . . . I would heartily recommend getting this book.
