Overview

Roland Meynet has a unique textual interpretation method used for Old Testament texts. In Called to Freedom, Meynet teaches readers this unique biblical rhetoric, guiding readers through a new, original study on the ancient Semitic world. By demonstrating that freedom is the driving force behind all of Israel’s religious experience and history, Meynet helps readers to a new understanding of the books of Mosaic Law, the experience of Israel in Exodus, and even the interpretation of the psalms as hymns of freedom. This work makes an important contribution to the field of biblical studies, covering a topic especially relevant for modern society.
