From the Preface: I believe that I have produced sufficient scriptural proof on the points at issue to satisfy any earnest, unprejudiced Christian that the reign of Christ is in the heart and will never be a carnal political kingdom on this earth.
Although the proof-text method of argument has pretty well gone out of use in modern theological literature, I have followed that method in this book for the simple reason that no other method is adapted to appeal to premillennialists themselves and those to whom their arguments appeal.—Charles Ewing Brown
