Drawing from existing scholarship, Ralph Martin explores the essence of the book of Philippians. Martin gives special attention to two main themes in Paul’s letter: the meaning of the great Christological passage in chapter two and the nature of the sectarian teaching that Paul warns against in chapter three. Martin’s commentary is based on the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, which preserves the best of the King James while conveying the message of the bible in clear and simple language for English speakers.
