For nearly 30 years, the Journal of Biblical Counseling (previously the Journal of Pastoral Practice) of CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) has provided a forum for biblical counseling’s development and application. The journal’s mission is to develop clear thinking and effective practice in biblical counseling through articles that faithfully bring the God of truth, mercy, and power to the issues faced by ministries of counseling and discipleship.
“The primary goal of the sexual relationship is meeting the needs and desires of the spouse” (Page 7)
“This principle helps solve the problem of masturbation. Masturbation is selfishly satisfying oneself sexually. The focus of masturbation is not giving but getting. Satisfying the sexual desire, unlike hunger, is not essential to the welfare of the physical body. Therefore, not satisfying the sexual desire does not do any harm to the body.” (Page 14)
“The person who masturbates focuses on satisfying self and builds those kinds of selfish habits; when he marries he will have considerable difficulty changing the focus from getting satisfaction to giving it.” (Page 14)
“God-ordained authorities6 have the right to ask for and receive accurate testimony to perform their legitimate tasks” (Page 31)
“Failure to participate wholeheartedly, aggressively, and passionately in sex is sin and ought to be called sin” (Page 7)
