Overview

Catching Fire, Becoming Flame is a modern classic in spiritual formation and discipleship by popular Catholic priest and award-winning author Fr. Albert Haase. Amid the pressures and wear-and-tear of life, it’s easy to become “luke-warm” in our faith. In thirty-three short chapters, Albert Haase gives you the tools and kindling to prepare for the spark of God in your life – and then shows you how to fan it into flame.

Appealing to a broad range of Christians, Catching Fire, Becoming Flame:

  • Provides a perfect Bible study guide for new believers, students, or anyone who wants to rekindle their faith
  • Provides a basic overview of the spiritual life, including sin and transformation, God and love, suffering, methods of prayer, discernment, forgiveness, silence and rest, and more
  • Includes thought-provoking reflection questions in every chapter to help you progress
  • Combines engaging storytelling with pastoral wisdom, humor and practical guidance
  • Makes God, faith, and spirituality approachable, personal, and immediate
  • Glows with time-tested wisdom from an experienced spiritual director who draws on Scripture and the wisdom of the saints
  • As one reviewer noted, “this is Christianity at its finest: bold, vibrant, and down to earth.” Through his work with parishes all over North America, Fr. Albert Haase has helped thousands of people to rekindle their enthusiasm and mission in life. Catching Fire, Becoming Flame is an excellent book for small groups and Bible studies, class settings, and personal prayer and journaling.
