Auguste Sabatier (1839–1901) was educated at the Universities of Tübingen and Heidelberg. He was appointed professor of reformed dogmatics in the theological faculty of Strasbourg. His works include The Apostle Paul, The Vitality of Christian Dogmas and Their Power of Evolution, and Religions of Authority and the Religion of the Spirit.
