Rather than taking an exhaustive exegetical approach to the questions posed, Gilhooly offers little more than a cursory analysis. Much has happened in our understanding of the unseen realm since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Unfortunately, if anything, Gilhooly’s examination just muddies the waters. He takes aim at the more supernatural interpretations of “the sons of God,” and tries to minimize the effects of angels and demons in the world. When he makes a claim, he offers an unsatisfactory amount of exegetical justification for his conclusions. Sadly, this book contributes little of value to the existing body of work.

I am still reading this book. Comparing it to information provided from other sources. This is a tough topic that many just want to ignore. There are dangers to ignoring this part of Christianity. I do like the discussion questions after each section to get you to think about the topic. And allows us to express what we are getting from the book. SPirtual warfare is very real. Yet often ignored in too many churches. I see a balanced approach to what is written. Some of the comments I have read surprised me. But it is important to understand the challenges Angels and Demons have on our faith and our witness.
