Digital Logos Edition
This quarter’s Study Themes are:“Questions Jesus Asked,”“Holy God, Holy People,” and“Extraordinary Relationships.” Jesus often used questions to teach spiritual truths and to challenge religious assumptions. The five-week study “Questions Jesus Asked” explores questions Jesus asked and why getting the answers right is essential to growing in discipleship. The four-week study “Holy God, Holy People” reminds believers that God expects true holiness of His people. This study will help people understand what holiness is, why God expects holiness from us, and how we can become holy. The Book of Proverbs is rich in wisdom that makes for strong and godly relationships. In the four-week study “Extraordinary Relationships” we begin by discovering what Proverbs teaches us about the relationship that influences all others—our relationship with God. We then consider our roles and relationships within the family. The third session moves beyond just the family and reviews several character traits everyone should exhibit in every relationship. The last lesson considers our influence, leading us to see how we can help others be the people God wants them to be. The Herschel Hobbs Commentary is named in honor and memory of Dr. Herschel H. Hobbs, Southern Baptist statesman and theologian. Dr. Robert J. Dean is a retired curriculum specialist from LifeWay Christian Resources. Dr. Ronald K. Brown is a retired curriculum manager from LifeWay Christian Resources.
