Overview

The Life Application Bible will help you understand God's message to you. Its notes explain difficult passages and give background information about Bible life and times, but they also go a step further - they also show how God's Word speaks to every situation and circumstance of your life.

The Life Application Bible is a wonderful collection of Bible study resources. It includes Application Notes on more than 10,000 passages of Scripture, book introductions, timelines, over 100 Profiles of key people in the Bible, and more maps (200) and more charts (260) than any other study Bible. The Life Application Bible is the work of over 100 contributors from a variety of denominations. Billy Graham said, "The Life Application Bible is a great step forward in helping Christians apply the Bible's life-changing message in their own lives."

Top Highlights

“Jesus had many disciples (learners), but he chose only 12 apostles (messengers). The apostles were his inner circle to whom he gave special training and whom he sent out with his own authority. These were the men who started the Christian church. In the Gospels these 12 men are usually called the disciples, but in the book of Acts they are called apostles.” (Page 1690)

“Jewish males were circumcised as a sign of the Jews’ covenant with God” (Page 2032)

“In order to accept Christ as Savior, we need to turn from our sins and willingly nail our sinful nature to the cross. This doesn’t mean, however, that we will never see traces of its evil desires again. As Christians we still have the capacity to sin, but we have been set free from sin’s power over us and no longer have to give in to it. We must daily commit our sinful tendencies to God’s control, daily crucify them, and moment by moment draw on the Spirit’s power to overcome them (see 2:20; 6:14).” (Page 1994)

“When the light of the truth about Jesus illuminates us, we have the duty to shine that light to help others. Our witness for Christ should be public, not hidden. We should not keep the benefits for ourselves alone but pass them on to others. In order to be helpful, we need to be well placed. Seek opportunities to shine your light when unbelievers need help to see.” (Page 1697)

“The Jews despised the Romans because they oppressed God’s people,” (Page 1692)

The Life Application Study Bible (3rd Ed.) for NIV and NLT were published in 2020, and for the KJV in 2021. When will Logos/Faithlife bring this to its amazing collection?

The only negative for me is some notes are out of order or feel like they were added after the fact. Example, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 has a chart from chapter 5 smack dab in the middle of it. I thought that was very odd. But it has a lot of good solid information in it. I purchased mine via Logos dot com.

I’ve used the NLT Version for more than 10 years. It is an EXCELLENT resource for studying to understand and apply Gods Word to our life. It’s well worth the price!!

I have a hard copy of the NEW KJV which has a lot of information, but, sadly, it is missing the coveted Reading Plan, which is why I wanted it in the 1st place. The Accordance Version created their Reading Plan, they said, to not repeat story lines already from the Text. I disagree. Their removal of Genesis 2:4-25 was more sinister in my view because that involves God's intent for Marriage between one man and one woman. I will use the Life Application Study Bible Notes, until I see the final NLT Version, if I don't expire before its release. I recommend this for anyone wanting to delve deeper into all areas of the text and application of God's Holy Word into their own lives.

I have been using this bible in the printed form for year and love it. I was glad to see in in a digital form. It makes copy and pasting a lot easier.
