The Witness of Hermas to the Four Gospels

C. J. Clay and Sons, Cambridge University Press 1892

The Shepherd of Hermas is a mine of allusions to the Gospels and other writings that has not yet been fully understood. In form it is a lengthy revelation to one Hermas, written down by himself; but while some take his story for history, C. Taylor examines the significance of this text to our understanding of the Gospels collectively, and individually.
