About Dennis James Woods

Dennis James Woods, has studied eschatology for over 50 years. His fascination with end times prophecy began in 1976 while serving inthe Navy aboard the U.S.S. England, after reading Hal Lindsey's The Late Great Planet Earth. In 1982, after being honorably discharged, he continued to pursue his eschatological interests studying the work of many dispensational authors and teachers. In 1994, while on staff at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Dr. Woods' first book Unlocking the Door: A Key to Biblical Prophecy was published, giving him national exposure. In 1995, he further sharpened his eschatological skills by taking a Revelation course taught by the renowned New Testament scholar Dr. D.A. Carson, at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Elmbrook Church, in Brookfield Wisconsin. The specific reason for taking Carson's course was to have his theories that challenged dispensationalism, evaluated by a renowned scholar. In 1996-97, he then corresponded with Dallas Theological Seminary giants Dr. John Walvoord and J. Dwight Pentecost with the expressed intent of challenging their work in support of the pretribulation rapture theory.
