W. David Nelson is the Rosalyn and Manny Rosenthal Associate Professor of Jewish Studies, and Director of the Program in Jewish Studies, at TCU and Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University. He holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia (1989), and both a M.A. in Bible and Cognate Studies (1992) and Ph.D. in Rabbinic Literature and Thought (1999) from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. Among his areas of specialization are early Jewish biblical interpretation, the history and literature of Judaism in the Greco-Roman period, and Jewish Studies. He teaches courses in both Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University and the Department of Religion at TCU. Prior to joining the faculty of Brite, he taught at Washington University in St. Louis.
