Don’t count out Gen Z. These misfits and dreamers desire to see change in the world. Born between 1995 and 2012, they are the largest generation in the United States, but most Christians misunderstand the gap between them and Gen Z. Gen Z Misunderstood seeks to bridge the gap between you and Gen Z! Through years of experience with Gen Z, Tanner Callison seeks to challenge you to think differently and reprioritize your ministry efforts among this promising generation. We need to understand the story of Gen Z so we may invite them to a better story--God’s story.
“If you have a Gen Z, work with a Gen Z, know a Gen Z, or are a
Gen Z . . . this book is for you!”
—Todd Ahrend, author of In This Generation
“If Gen Z baffles you, this is your introduction. You
will come to more fully understand Gen Z—their world, their
passions, their quirks—and even to more fully love them. And with
that transformation, your church or ministry may actually be ready
to reach them, too! Highly readable and engaging, Gen Z
Misunderstood will assist Christian leaders in making disciples
of this generation.”
—Justin Schell, director of executive projects, the Lausanne
Movement
“For anyone struggling to understand and minister to Gen
Z, Tanner Callison has done us all a favor. With a discerning mind
and a compassionate heart, he demystifies common misperceptions of
this generation. I recommend Tanner’s cultural-generational study
and trans-generational biblical principles as both wise and
accessible to any reader seeking to minister to Gen Z.”
—E. D. Burns, Western Seminary
“I’ve been serving in college ministry for over ten years, and I’ve
seen the transition from millennials to Generation Z on campus.
There are important changes and fantastic opportunities. Callison
has done the hard work of summarizing those changes and reminding
us that the Bible and the church provide the countercultural tools
to take full advantage of those opportunities. Rather than being
frustrated by the transition into a new generation on our campuses,
Tanner encourages us all to eagerly make disciples of Gen Z!”
—Andy Cimbala, author of The Relentless Fight: The Power of the
Gospel in the Fight against Sin
