Nous choisissons Dieu parce qu’il nous a fait voir sa beauté. Nous l’aimons parce qu’il nous a aimés le premier. La prédestination n’est pas un concept théologique réservé aux calvinistes. Tous les croyants qui étudient sérieusement la Parole devraient s’intéresser à cette doctrine biblique. Dans ce livre, R. C. Sproul soutient que la doctrine de la prédestination ne crée pas une image fantaisiste ou malveillante de Dieu, mais dresse plutôt le portrait d’un Dieu aimant qui assure la rédemption d’une humanité fondamentalement corrompue. En examinant ce que l’Écriture veut nous dire sur la souveraineté de Dieu, le problème du mal, la liberté humaine et l’évangélisation, l’auteur nous rappelle que les voies de Dieu, bien que mystérieuses, ne se contredisent pas. R. C. Sproul (1939-2017) est un théologien et un pasteur américain. Il est le fondateur de Ligonier Ministries, un ministère international d’éducation chrétienne situé aux États-Unis. Il a enseigné dans plusieurs universités et séminaires, dont le Reformed Theological Seminary. Il a écrit des centaines de livres dans le but de proclamer les vérités profondes de la Parole de Dieu.

R. C. Sproul (1939– 2017) was a respected teacher, theologian, pastor. He was the founder and chairman of Ligonier Ministries in Orlando FL. He was also first minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew’s Chapel, first president of Reformation Bible College, and executive editor of Tabletalk magazine. His radio program, Renewing Your Mind, is still broadcast daily on hundreds of radio stations around the world and can also be heard online.
Sproul held degrees from Westminster College, Pittsburgh-Xenia Theological Seminary, Free University of Amsterdam, and Whitefield Theological Seminary. He taught at several colleges and seminaries including Reformed Theological Seminary and Knox Theological Seminary. He served as senior minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew’s Chapel, in Sanford, Florida. Sproul’s teaching can be heard daily on the “Renewing Your Mind” radio broadcast which plays in over 40 countries.
Sproul wrote over 70 books and articles including the classic The Holiness of God and several theological articles in Tabletalk magazine.
