This quarter’s Study Themes are:“Living 3:16 in a 9/11 World,”“Pioneers in the Covenant,” and“Unlocking Your Best Relationships.” Fear rather than hope dominates our post-9/11 world. “Living 3:16 in a 9/11 World,” a five-lesson Study Theme drawn from selected New Testament 3:16 passages, is designed to help adults live each day with God-given confidence and hope.
“Pioneers in the Covenant,” a 4-session Study Theme, examines selected events in the lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as recorded in the Book of Genesis. This unit is designed to help adults discover new frontiers in their faith.
How can you build great relationships with others? “Unlocking Your Best Relationships,” a four-session Study Theme drawn from various Scriptures, introduces four actions that will help—appreciate, communicate, be trustworthy, and be ready to forgive.
The Herschel Hobbs Commentary contains expository treatment of each lesson passage in the adult Bible Studies for Life curriculum for this quarter. The approach begins with the “Significance of the Lesson,” moves to “Search the Scriptures,” and concludes with “Spiritual Transformations.” Greek and Hebrew words are explained, the message of the Scripture is clarified, and its truth is applied to life. The Bible exposition is based on the King James Version.
