Overview

Every PhD student in theological and biblical studies is expected to read German, but there are surprisingly few resources to help students learn to read and translate scholarly theological works. This streamlined grammar and reader by an experienced teacher and German-language expert presents biblical passages and theological readings of gradually increasing difficulty. Suited for self-study or classroom use, this book helps students to gain the proficiency needed for scholarly theological research.

  • Provides a streamlined grammar and reader
  • Helps students to gain the proficiency needed for scholarly theological research

Carolyn Roberts Thompson (MAT, Southwest Texas State University) taught German for reading theological texts for over three decades at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. She was a presenter and consultant for the College Board on preparing students for the German Advanced Placement Exam and serves as copyeditor for Restoration Quarterly.

This is a great resource, but can Logos please index the German-English glossary in the back of the book? That would make it a lot more useful. Having this indexed by German headword would make it more connected to the rest of my library.
