Overview

MORE THAN ONE MILLION COPIES SOLD • A Classic of Spiritual Transformation and Church Revitalization.

What can the Holy Spirit do when believers get serious about prayer and the gospel?

For anyone seeking to live at the center of God’s purposes, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire points the way to new spiritual vitality in the church and in your own life.

God moves in life-changing ways—calling us back from spiritual dead ends, apathy, and lukewarm religion—when we set aside our own agendas, take him at his word, and listen for his voice.

Pastor Jim Cymbala knows this from personal experience.

Back in the early 1970s his own church, the Brooklyn Tabernacle, was a struggling congregation of twenty. Then they began to pray…to really pray. Then God began to move, and street-hardened lives by the hundreds were changed with the love of Christ. Today, the Brooklyn Tabernacle is nearly ten thousand strong.

In this twentieth anniversary edition, Cymbala updates the classic stories, including that of his own daughter. You’ll learn how the church has grown and how God helped his people through difficult changes, financial challenges, and dramatic encounters. Cymbala extends his own story outward in order to show how God continues to reshape the life stories of so many people who encounter Christ and the power of the gospel.

This is a message of hope and transformation that continues right into your own stories, shaping and changing you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Also available in Spanish, Fuego vivo, viento fresco.

’The Brooklyn Tabernacle is truly following the example of the New Testament church. This deeply moving book calls churches back to the Word of God and prayer and away from the cheap substitutes that are so popular today.’ -- Warren W. Wiersbe, Author

’There are relatively few churches that have a heart for the lost and for the inner city; Jim Cymbala and the Brooklyn Tabernacle are one of the few. They have allowed the Holy Spirit to use them to breathe fresh life into seemingly hopeless lives.’ -- Nicky Cruz, Author

’It is without question that God has placed his hand on Pastor Jim Cymbala in the raising up of a great inner-city ministry, the Brooklyn Tabernacle. This church, under his leadership, serves as a model and an inspiration for so many across America. It has been their dependence upon the enabling of the Holy Spirit and the emphasis upon prayer that has brought this about.’ -- Thomas E. Trask, Former General Superintendent

’This is an important book for all whose Christianity has become still and sterile. ‘Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire’ signals that God is at work in our day and that he wishes to be at work in our lives.’ -- Dr. Joseph Stowell, Former President

’Jim and Carol Cymbala’s voice is worth everyone hearing. He has a passion and a purity that brings force and clarity to the grand old gospel -- bringing it alive with contemporary vitality and beauty.’ -- Jack W. Hayford, Founder

Beaverton Foursquare Church, Beaverton, Oregon ‘Lovingly but forcefully, Jim Cymbala calls us, the Church, to look in the mirror, to repent of all out futile attempts to do the work of the Holy Spirit, and to get back on our knees where we belong. Only then will God supernaturally move to accomplish His plan for our ministries and lives.’ -- Dr. Ron Mehl, Founder

’If you ever have the chance to visit Pastor Cymbala’s church, do not miss it. If you can’t go, you must read ‘Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire.’ The remarkable story of this great church and its dynamic Spirit-filled pastor will bring fresh wind and fresh fire into your life.’ -- Bob Briner, President

The Book is filled with blatant outright lies about the testimonies and is based on faulty man-centered Revivalist New Methods theology of Charles Finney who denied the Gospel. Garbage.
